Nation, home of the superclub Cream in Liverpool, has avoided demolition after the city council changed their plans regarding the area.
A meeting with local councillors, club owners and developers was held, and resulted in the proposed Georgian houses being turned into serviced apartments instead of long-term occupancy flats.
This means for now, Cream which turns 22 years-old on November 22 will not face closure.
Cream issued this statement: “Nation lives to dance another day. With an 11th hour reprieve late last night resulting in an amendment to the proposed planning application regarding the development of Wolstenholme square and following the overwhelming love and support received not just from the local community but from around the world, Nation will continue.”
